Non-Idaho Russets

So what is the difference between "Idaho" Russets and "Regional" Russets? I'm glad you asked. The simple answer would be that Idaho Russet potatoes are grown in the State of Idaho and Regional Russet Potatoes are grown in any State other than Idaho. Potatoes are grown in just about every State in the United States of America. However, some States have substantially more russet potatoes than others. Some of these States include Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Wisconsin and Texas. The varieties and availability from each of these States varies.
